Ensaaf News: Religious Authorities in Qom Did Not Grant a Meeting to the Minister of Economy

The website Ensaaf News reports that the religious authorities in Qom did not grant a meeting to Ehsan Khandoozi, the Minister of Economy in Raisi’s government, during his recent visit to the city.

In the program related to Mr. Khandoozi’s Thursday visit to Qom, apart from a session with economic activists and a collaborative meeting at Qom University, only a meeting with Alireza Arafi, the Friday prayer leader of Qom and the director of Iran’s religious seminaries, is noted.

The report states that Jafar Sobhani, Abdullah Jawadi Amoli, Hossein Noori Hamedani, and Naser Makarem Shirazi did not grant a meeting to the Minister of Economy.

Three days ago, during a meeting with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament, the religious authorities in Qom criticized the economic situation. Jawadi Amoli explicitly stated that if competent managers and officials do not exist and the people are not involved, failure is certain. Makarem Shirazi also emphasized the public’s concern over rising prices, stating that the national broadcaster does not reflect their warnings.
