Inspection teams established to enforce mandatory hijab in Mazandaran

A security official in Mazandaran province announced the formation of inspection teams to enforce the mandatory hijab or what he referred to as combating improper veiling in tourist attractions and accommodation centers in Mazandaran during the Norouz holiday.

Ruhollah Salgi, the political and security deputy of the Mazandaran governor, stated on Friday in a meeting of the chastity and hijab working group attended by the governors of this province that dealing with improper veiling and combating the manifestations of Western decadent culture is a fundamental approach in the country.

Officials of the Islamic Republic refer to girls or women who do not comply with the mandatory hijab as improperly veiled or unveiled.
