Iranian Arms Shipment to Yemen Halted by the US

Iran’s arms shipment to Yemen was stopped by the United States

The U.S. Fifth Fleet has intercepted a fishing vessel carrying over 50 tons of ammunition, including one million bullets, seven thousand rocket fuses, and propellant for missiles, which was being smuggled from Iran to Yemen.

On Saturday, the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet announced in a statement that this is the second illegal arms shipment discovered by the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet in a month.

U.S. military officials stated that this amount of explosive material is sufficient to fuel at least twelve medium-range ballistic missiles.

Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Navy, stated that this significant interdiction clearly demonstrates that the illegal transfer of lethal aid and Iran’s destabilizing behavior continues.
