The Iranian Development newspaper has published a confidential circular.
In today’s issue, the Iranian Development newspaper has published a highly confidential circular from the Minister of Interior, which contains instructions for dealing with women who do not observe compulsory hijab.
Yesterday, the Ettemad newspaper also published this circular, and the judiciary declared it a crime against the newspaper.
Many legal experts believe that since this document is related to the rights of citizens, it should not be classified at all.
Ahmad Vahidi, the Iranian Minister of Interior, had previously stated in early December that we do not have a special permit for not observing hijab, and their presence seems to be enforced by public groups under the principle of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
The publication of this document is clearly contradictory to his statements.
A part of the published document states that the Intelligence Organization, the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Organization, and the Ministry of Intelligence should extensively document the identification of offenders who violate hijab and are unveiled through national plans and immediately send the results to the intelligence or judicial authorities.
This circular also includes the immediate order for photographing all sections of the metro, inside the carriages, and documenting them.
