Iranian Foreign Minister says Starlink's activities in Iran are illegal

The Iranian Foreign Minister says that Starlink’s activities in Iran are illegal.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in the disarmament meeting of the United Nations currently taking place in Geneva, stated that Starlink, with the help of the US government, has started its illegal activities within the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Starlink terminals are directly connected to global network satellites and provide internet access to users without any restrictions, including filtering.

About two months ago, Elon Musk, the owner of Space-X company that manages Starlink internet, stated that the number of Starlink devices active in Iran is close to one hundred.

Since the bloody crackdown on protests in Iran, more restrictions have been imposed on the internet and its platforms. The United States had declared its commitment to providing Iranians with free internet access and has reduced sanctions in this area with the same goal.
