Iranian national team star player banned from leaving the country

Razieh, a disabled veteran and member of the Iranian women’s national handball team, who is known as the country’s first female legionnaire in the history of women’s handball, announced this morning that she has been banned from leaving the country. Razieh, who was heading to Imam Khomeini Airport for a trip abroad, found out that she is on the travel ban list and her passport has been confiscated. In this regard, she wrote, ‘It’s strange that I, who have always proudly represented this land wherever I went and came back, who am in love with Iran, am now considered a criminal for expressing my concerns about the country’s conditions on my personal page.’ She also stated in the month of Mehr that she will no longer play for the national team due to recent events.
