Iranian Red Crescent currently has not found any traces of the helicopter.
Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior, in an interview with IRIB News about the helicopter incident involving the President’s helicopter in East Azerbaijan, said that today we had the inauguration of the Qiz Qalasi Dam with the presence of the Azerbaijani President. After that, the President, along with his companions, were on their way back with a few helicopters, one of which had to make a hard landing due to bad weather conditions in the area.
Vahidi added that rescue teams have been dispatched to the area, but due to the hazardous and inappropriate conditions of the area, it may take some time for them to reach the helicopter.
The Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic stated that we have had some communication with the President’s companions, but due to the complex nature of the area, communication is somewhat difficult. We are waiting for the rescue teams to reach the incident area and the helicopter crash site and provide us with information.
The Public Relations Manager of the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization announced the dispatch of 20 rescue teams to the helicopter incident area carrying the President’s convoy and stated that currently no traces of the helicopter have been found.
