Kayhan newspaper’s renewed attack on protesters: Rent-a-thugs and destruction seekers

Kayhan newspaper, whose chief editor is appointed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, has launched a harsh attack on protesters, labeling them as rent-a-thugs and destruction seekers.

Kayhan has accused the protesters of street savagery and forced strikes, stating that their gatherings consist of only a few dozen people.

In the violent crackdown by the Islamic Republic’s government on the protests in Iran, so far 400 have been killed and at least 14,000 to 16,000 have been arrested.
