Mashregh News denies the Kayhan report

Tayeb has not registered for the Guardian Council elections

Kayhan newspaper has published a news article stating that in the upcoming Guardian Council elections, only Rouhani has been disqualified, but there are other clerical figures who are actually affiliated with the principlist faction but were not qualified.

Kayhan further writes that during Ahmadinejad’s presidency, Hojjat al-Islam Moslehi, the Minister of Intelligence, Hojjat al-Islam Pourmohammadi, the Secretary-General of the Combatant Clergy Association, and Hojjat al-Islam Tayeb, as well as prominent figures like Mr. Sadeqi, the temporary Friday prayer leader of Tehran, and Mr. Tehrani, all respected the Guardian Council’s decision. So why is Mr. Hassan Rouhani questioning the country’s legal structures with such controversy?

This claim is made while an informed source has informed Mashregh that Hojjat al-Islam Tayeb has not registered for the Guardian Council elections.
