The danger of Musk for the world is more serious than ever
Elon Musk’s control over the former social network Twitter and his extreme and racist behavior in spreading provocative fake and incorrect news and data has been making headlines in recent months
He has weakened the oversight of this social network and has openly and seriously acted to reinstate malicious, extremist, and dangerous individuals and groups to his social network
His support for British racist riots and misinformation and incitement against the Keir Starmer government was his latest action in this field, which continued with the republishing and spreading of racist content supporting Nazis and extremists. He has consistently been a supporter and sympathizer with anti-immigrants as well
But these are not the main danger. Elon Musk now owns two-thirds of the satellites stationed in Earth’s orbit. SpaceX, Elon Musk’s company, launched the seven-thousandth Starlink internet service satellite into space. He intends to increase the current number of active Starlink satellites to over 40,000 to expand his internet services worldwide
These services have so far been activated in more than a hundred countries worldwide, and Starlink earns revenue from providing internet and selling related hardware. These services are so valuable that he has reached an agreement with the Brazilian government, which has restricted access to the former Twitter, to continue providing Starlink services
Musk’s destructive and malicious approach has become evident over the past two years, and in fact, his dirty game in the stock market and the cryptocurrency market, which accounted for part of his enormous wealth, along with his deceitful game in Tesla, where he became wealthy through an agreement for a massive bonus, has shown the nature of his behavior and approach
At a time when the U.S. government budget for NASA has been decreasing year by year and SpaceX has single-handedly taken over satellite and spacecraft launch services, and in the absence of a serious competitor, Musk is becoming the absolute ruler in this field
His dominance over internet services is also not good news for the people of non-democratic countries. Musk’s interest in authoritarian countries and their rulers does not present a positive outlook for the people of these countries under Musk’s dominance over global internet
It is not without reason that Musk has not yet made an effort to provide internet to the people of Iran. He has taken a similar stance towards Russia, Syria, and North Korea and has made no effort to provide free internet to China
