Mehdi Kouhian, a member of the committee monitoring detained artists during the recent protests in Iran, 40 filmmakers have been arrested

Mehdi Kouhian, a member of the committee monitoring the detained artists during the recent protests in Iran, stated that 40 filmmakers have been arrested.

He mentioned that not all of them are famous; there are many unknown individuals among the detained cinema community, and to protect their privacy, we will refrain from publicizing their names until their families announce the names of the detainees.

Mr. Kouhian also said that they have compiled a list of 150 filmmakers who have been summoned, arrested, charged, banned from leaving the country, or otherwise faced restrictions by the relevant authorities during the protests.

He states that this committee has had discussions with the relevant authorities regarding this situation, and it was agreed that the security atmosphere would be reduced, but in practice, these actions against filmmakers have continued.

In the latest incident involving filmmakers, yesterday, the well-known Iranian actress Mitra Hajjar was arrested, and it was announced a few hours later that she was released on bail.
