Member of the Parliament's Stability Front: The Parliament, not the government, is responsible for the price hikes

A member of the Stability Front in the Parliament says the cause of inflation is the Parliament, not the government.

Hojatoleslam Hossein Jalali said, ‘Anyone with a bit of sense wouldn’t say that prices should return to September 2021. I don’t understand why you journalists make such topics the focus of your questions.’

‘I can tie your legs and tell you to run. When we in the Parliament pass a law stating that the 4,200 Toman exchange rate will no longer exist and the currency must be liberalized and reach 25,000 Tomans, and somehow you convert the 4,200 Toman currency to 25,000 Tomans, how do you expect nothing to become more expensive and all items to be sold at the previous prices?’

The Parliament’s decree to eliminate the 4,200 Toman exchange rate means everything should become five times more expensive; the cause of price increases is the Parliament, not the government.

The government only proposed it, but the entity that approved it was the Parliament, not the government.
