We do not have any accurate and official statistics on child labor, says the Minister of Interior

The Minister of Interior stated, ‘We do not have accurate and official statistics on child labor.’

The Minister of Interior mentioned that there are estimates regarding child labor, but they are not precise. He also pointed out that a significant portion of street children are foreigners, and authorities face challenges once these children are collected.

Ahmad Vahidi discussed the efforts made to organize child laborers and reduce addiction. He highlighted the specific agencies responsible for organizing these two areas, stating that the Welfare Organization is obligated to take action. However, he emphasized that this task is broader than what the Welfare Organization alone can handle, so all municipalities were asked to assist the Welfare Organization in achieving this goal.

He stressed the need for all capacities to work together for success in this field. He stated that municipalities should collect child laborers and addicts, and then the Welfare Organization should take care of them. In some cases, municipalities also assist in collecting them.
