Molavi Abdolhamid: I confirm the reports of sexual assault on female prisoners

He wrote in a tweet that news of sexual assault on female prisoners with the intent to humiliate, suppress, and force confessions has been reflected in the media, and the accounts of some prisoners confirm this matter.

Molavi Abdolhamid further stated that if proven, the greatest corrupters on earth are indeed the perpetrators of these crimes.

He addressed the judiciary, writing that these individuals should be tried and given the harshest punishment.

CNN, by publishing an investigative report, has reported on sexual assault and rape of some detainees of recent protests in Iranian prisons.

CNN published this report based on the testimonies of several released detainees or hospital sources and confirmed that young women, girls, and teenage boys have been raped in prisons.

Most cases of rape and sexual abuse are related to western Iran and Kurdish areas, including in detention centers in Urmia.
