Mr. Abdolhamid, on May 4th, referred to the extensive coverage of the BBC World Service regarding the manner of Mrs. Shakhrami’s killing in his Friday prayer sermons in Zahedan, saying that the authorities of the Islamic Republic should be impartial towards the people and their complaints against the officials.
He further added that if any official has tortured or violated someone, they should be legally punished. The executors of justice and law should start with themselves and their close ones.
BBC World Service reported on May 1st that they had obtained a highly confidential document of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, indicating that Nika Shakhrami was subjected to sexual harassment and abuse and was killed after being detained by security forces.
