Molavi Abdulhamid, the Friday Imam of Sunni community in Zahedan, criticized the imprisonment of Sadeq Zibakalam today, Wednesday, 25 Ordibehesht, saying that there is no place for such a sincere critic in prison.

Abdulhamid Ismailzahi wrote on his former Twitter account that intellectuals and thinkers are the assets of the country, and we should welcome their criticism and opinions. Sadeq Zibakalam is a sincere, patriotic, and caring intellectual. There is no place for such a sincere critic in prison. The news of Sadeq Zibakalam’s imprisonment after being convicted in three cases was reported on 23 Ordibehesht. The Iranian judiciary stated that he was imprisoned following the finalization of some judicial rulings.

This retired professor from the University of Tehran is considered by analysts close to the reformists to be particularly critical of the Islamic Republic government, especially in the field of foreign policy, and has been a supporter of normalizing relations with Western countries in recent years.
