Mustafa Neeli, a lawyer active in women’s rights in Gilan, has been sentenced to one to nine years in prison.
Mustafa Neeli, a judicial lawyer, told Shargh newspaper that a group of women’s rights activists in Gilan who were detained last year have been sentenced to one to nine years in prison in a snap trial.
Mr. Neeli, who is the lawyer of Forough Saminia and Jalveh Javaheri, two of the defendants in this case, told Shargh newspaper on Thursday that Mrs. Forough Saminia has been sentenced to 3 years, 6 months, and 1 day in prison on charges of social and collusion to disrupt national security, and to 2 years, 7 months, and 16 days in prison on charges of membership in an illegal group. Mrs. Jalveh Javaheri has also been sentenced to 1 year in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime.
Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht has sentenced a women’s rights activist to 6 years and 1 day in prison on charges of forming an illegal group, and to 3 years, 6 months, and 1 day in prison on charges of social and collusion to disrupt national security.
Additionally, Sara Jahani, Matin Yazdani, Yasamin Hashdari, Shiva Shahsiya, Negin Rezaei, Zahra Dadres, and Azadeh Chavoshiyan have been sentenced to 3 years, 6 months, and 1 day in prison on charges of social and collusion to disrupt national security.
