The blatant killings in these trials are praised by Nasrin Sotoudeh

Nasrin Sotoudeh says these trials are blatant murder.

Nasrin Sotoudeh, a well-known Iranian lawyer and activist who is currently on medical furlough, wrote on her Facebook account that Mohammad Mehdi Kermi and Mohammad Hosseini were both executed in clear violation of the law.

Ms. Sotoudeh, a prosecutor and human rights activist, considers the trials that led to the execution of these two protesters to be invalid and states that the rushed implementation of verdicts by the judicial authorities and government lawyers does not purify them.

Ms. Sotoudeh, who was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2021, writes that these trials are blatant murder and, for strong legal reasons, all death sentences should be immediately revoked.

Mohammad Mehdi Kermi and Mohammad Hosseini were executed in the early hours of Sunday in Iran. They were sentenced to death following a show trial.
