Naser Kanani considers some of the published results from overseas ballot boxes as lacking authenticity and credibility.
Naser Kanani, the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deemed some of the published results from overseas ballot boxes as lacking authenticity and credibility, stating that the official source for publishing statistics is the Central Elections Headquarters of the Ministry of Interior.
Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior, also stated at the overseas election headquarters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that statistics should only be published by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is the legal route.
He added that some websites provide statistics that do not match ours and urged people not to raise these statistics.
However, the Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic did not announce any official statistics in this regard.
Based on unofficial statistics that the Iranian Minister of Interior does not recognize as official, Masoud Pezeshkian, the reformist candidate, has taken a significant lead over Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Saeed Jalili, the conservative candidates, in some voting districts in East Asia where the elections have ended.
