On the first of Esfand, telecommunications retirees protested across the country, including Tehran, Isfahan, Kurdistan, Khuzestan, Lorestan, and Ilam, in response to the lack of attention to their demands.

According to ILNA news agency, their major demands include the implementation of the 89 regulations, reduction of supplementary insurance contribution, payment of welfare benefits, and restoration of previous food allowances from Dey 1400 until now.

The supplementary insurance contribution for retirees has increased from 20% to 50%, and they are demanding a return to the previous practice.
