New Historical Records Registered for Dollar and Euro in Tehran Market

New historical records for the dollar and euro were registered in the Tehran market.

The free market price of the US dollar during pre-noon transactions on Wednesday increased compared to the previous day’s closing rate, reaching 60,400 rials, a rise of 400 toman.

The previous historical record of the free market dollar was set on February 26, 2023, and reached 60,150 toman, although by the end of this day’s transactions, the dollar price had dropped to 58,000 toman.

Before the attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 49,800 toman was the rate for the free market dollar, but with the start of the Israel-Hamas war, it started to rise. Consequently, the free market dollar rate has strengthened by more than 21% against the Iranian rial in the 5 months since the Israel-Hamas war.

Each euro was bought and sold for 65,550 toman before noon on Wednesday, an unprecedented rate in the Tehran market.
