New restriction on VPNs has slowed down the internet

The new restrictions on VPNs have caused internet slowdown.

In the past week, many users have faced issues connecting to their VPNs and are unable to use them despite paying hefty monthly fees to purchase them.

Some experts, in a conversation with Shargh Network, have stated that the infrastructure has imposed new restrictions to prevent users from accessing VPNs, ultimately resulting in a decrease in internet quality and speed.

Amirhossein Dehghan, a technology expert, explained in an interview with Shargh Network about this new development, mentioning that the Telecommunications Infrastructure Company has started disrupting some protocols used in VPNs almost 10 days ago, which has severely impacted the country’s internet quality and speed.

He mentioned that the infrastructure is currently limiting the filtering system, causing disruptions on protocols like TLS, which in turn also affect protocols like SSH and HTTPS.

In addition to these issues, for the past few days, the upload speed has significantly decreased. Even on the SpeedTest software, which is under the attention of the Ministry of Communications and tests are done through servers outside the country, the upload speed on operators shows a significant decrease compared to the past.
