The Foreign Minister of Pakistan has no desire to escalate tensions with Iran.

Jalil Abbas Jilani, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, has stated that his country has no desire to escalate tensions with Iran.

Mr. Jilani has said that the cross-border airstrikes on Friday, January 18th targeted what he called terrorist camps in southeastern Iran.

The attacks by Pakistan on border villages in Sistan and Baluchestan province occurred after Iran had a similar attack on Pakistani soil on Wednesday, January 16th.

The attacks by Iran and Pakistan on each other’s territories were met with widespread international reactions.
