The parliamentary reconciliation commission has agreed to import electric cars.
A representative of the Islamic Consultative Assembly has announced the agreement of the reconciliation commission to import electric cars to Iran. Mohsen Dehnavi, the deputy head of the reconciliation commission, said that today, on Monday, January 15th, the commission has approved the import of electric cars and a reduction in the import duties on these cars.
According to him, the customs revenues from the import of electric cars are intended to be used as facilities for the development of domestic electric car production.
Recently, the Trade Development Organization had announced the notification of the resolution on the import of electric cars.
Based on this, the tariff for electric cars valued between 20,000 to 30,000 euros is announced as 11%, and the tariff for electric cars over 30,000 euros is announced as 26%.
The head of this organization has considered the import of American electric cars at any price to be subject to restrictions. As a result, cars like Tesla will be subject to these restrictions.
