A Member of Parliament: We are investigating the possibility of Ms. Sepideh Rashno being beaten in detention
Rashidi-Koochi, a Member of Parliament, spoke about the situation of Sepideh Rashno, saying that from the very beginning when that video was released and she was arrested, we conducted follow-ups. After that, she had an interview on television, and strong suspicions were raised that she might have been beaten during her detention. We are pursuing these matters, but outside the media space because we want to investigate and announce the accurate results to the public in the near future. These suspicions may not be very precise, so we must first ensure and then speak. However, I am following up on this matter specifically.
Following the release of a video showing an altercation between two women on a bus over the hijab, Sepideh Rashno was arrested, and a case was filed in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court with charges of assembly and collusion with the intent to commit crimes against national security through connections with expatriates and engaging in propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic and encouraging people to corruption and prostitution.
