People are upset and angry about the dual standards of governance that Masoumeh Ebtakar mentioned.
Masoumeh Ebtakar, an active reformist political figure, says that the type of governance and dual standards have caused a significant portion of different social classes to become hesitant in defending the oppression of the people of Gaza.
The former head of the Environmental Organization, in an article titled ‘Beside Gaza, on which side of history is the media?’, published in Etemad newspaper, states that the so-called national media, namely the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, has not only lost its credibility but also had a negative impact on people’s trust in governance.
Ms. Ebtakar writes that the biased advertisements and news on state television in Iran have been so excessive that they have also influenced support for the Palestinian people.
She writes that people are upset that their support, in various occasions such as Quds Day, is used by those who have no value for their taste in terms of democracy and determining the fate, and now they are also upset and angry about the display of an ineffective uniform governance in managing the country, which has been benefiting a few individuals for a long time.
During the weekly protests in Zahedan city, images and videos have been circulated on social media and during sports events, showing people chanting slogans against the government’s policies regarding Gaza or sharing related content.
