The chief of Tehran’s cyber police announced the arrest of a pharmacist who was extending the expiration dates of medicines.
Colonel Davoud Moazzami Goodarzi, the head of Tehran’s cyber police, stated that as part of the fight against unauthorized drug sellers in the virtual space, monitoring and surveillance by experts of this police force revealed an Instagram page with over 10 thousand followers selling rare and scarce medicines.
He mentioned that the suspect had changed the expiration dates of medicines by printing fake labels and confessed to selling expired and spoiled medicines under the guise of rare and scarce drugs after being transferred to the cyber police.
Goodarzi added that the cyber police will take legal action against those who engage in selling such items in the virtual space with their continuous and round-the-clock monitoring.
The chief of Tehran’s cyber police emphasized that buying and selling pharmaceutical products without a license in the virtual space is prohibited and advised citizens to purchase any medication or health products from pharmacies or health centers, as the possibility of counterfeit and expired medicines being offered in the virtual space is likely.
