Police in Tehran have arrested sellers of counterfeit coins.

The head of Tehran’s preventive police announced the arrest of two individuals on charges of selling counterfeit coins.

Ali Qasempour stated that these individuals were detained after a complaint from a victim who had purchased counterfeit coins from them.

The Tehran police official added that following the complaint, the matter was put on the police’s agenda, and when the suspects, dressed neatly, intended to sell counterfeit coins to a gold shop, they were arrested.

According to Mr. Qasempour, the police in this operation discovered and seized 53 counterfeit coins coated and forged with gold.
