Power Plant in Rey Goes Offline

Power Plant in Rey Exits Production Circuit

Following the depletion of diesel reserves at the Rey power plant and a reduction in its gas quota, this unit has been taken out of electricity production.

The head of production and operations at the Rey power plant told ILNA news agency that the diesel quota for this plant has decreased by 87 percent compared to last year, and no new fuel quota has been delivered to the plant, which is why the diesel reserves have run out.

He also mentioned that the natural gas quota for this plant has significantly decreased since November 30, and on many days, no quota has been allocated to the Rey power plant.

Mohammad Mohammadi stated that even on days when gas was allocated, the amount was so low that it was practically insufficient for electricity production.

Khabar Online wrote about the Rey power plant, stating that it is a 48-year-old plant with an efficiency below 20 percent. During the cold seasons, when gas supply faces imbalances and gas is prioritized for power units, old and low-efficiency plants are taken out of operation.
