In response to some complaints on social media about the unavailability of some drugs, citing that they are single prescriptions or for travelers, the Food and Drug Organization stated that it is only obligated to provide drugs available in the country’s official list

The public relations of the Food and Drug Organization mentioned the reasons why some patients prefer to use foreign drugs even though there are domestic alternatives at a more reasonable price. They said that this is a cultural issue that partly relates to the conversations between doctors and patients, where some patients sometimes emphasize more on the quality of foreign samples, and partly due to misconceptions in society about domestic products
