The lawyer of Prince Kuhpayehzadeh stated that there is a possibility of conditional freedom for Babak Zanjani.
Babak Zanjani’s defense lawyer, considering the news of the overturning of his client’s death sentence and its conversion to imprisonment, said that Babak Zanjani currently has the possibility of enjoying conditional freedom.
Rasoul Kouhyarzadeh mentioned the latest status of Babak Zanjani’s case, stating that fortunately, according to the final court order issued by Branch 38 of the Supreme Court, which explicitly states that if Mr. Babak Zanjani can pay his debts, he is entitled to benefit from the provisions under Article 114 of the Islamic Penal Code. Since the relevant properties have been returned to the country and the debt has been fully settled, with the request of the Tehran Province Judiciary and the approval of the respected heads of the judiciary and leadership, they agreed to the client’s amnesty request, reducing the death penalty to 20 years in prison.
Babak Zanjani’s defense lawyer continued, stating that now, after more than 10 years of serving the prison sentence, according to the laws and regulations, the client has the possibility of enjoying conditional freedom, and the period of enduring imprisonment has come to an end.
