Professional swimmer dies at the Revolution Sports Complex
Alireza Bombei, a professional swimmer at the pool of the Revolution Sports Complex in Tehran, passed away.
ANA news agency reported that the lifeguards at this pool were absent from the hall for a few minutes and arrived at the scene after some time.
The manager of the Revolution complex, one of the most expensive sports facilities in Iran, confirmed the professionalism of the swimmer who lost his life on Monday morning. He said that he was a member of our complex and had come to the pool today with a friend, experiencing a seizure underwater, apparently due to an underlying illness.
Mohammad Mohammadi, former goalkeeper of Persepolis and Esteghlal, denied the absence of lifeguards at the time of the incident. He said they quickly pulled him out of the water, but since the seizure occurred in the water, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. We informed the authorities and the coroner’s office took the body for expert opinion.
