Almost every week, we face a request from faculty members asking for unpaid leave to go abroad for a year. Out of every five or six people who apply, 60 to 70 percent of them are just going abroad to see if they can stay or not. However, 30 to 40 percent of those who apply actually leave the country to complete a project and return to Iran after finishing their work.
