The results of a survey suggest that despite his older age, Biden is preferred over Trump.
A new survey from Quinnipiac University indicates that Joe Biden is slightly ahead of Donald Trump, even though a decisive majority of voters are concerned about his age.
The survey, conducted from February 15th to February 19th, showed that 49% of registered voters support Biden, the current US president, while 45% support Trump, the former US president, in a hypothetical general election competition.
However, 67% of voters said that Biden, at 81 years old, is too old to effectively serve another term compared to 57% who hold the same view about 77-year-old Trump. Only 34% believe Biden is mentally sound for a second term, while 48% think Trump is mentally fit.
Trump’s main rival, former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, has criticized both Biden and Trump for their advanced age. Additionally, Democratic representative Dan Phillips has challenged Biden primarily due to concerns that his age makes him unsuitable for nomination and victory against the former president.
This is while Biden and Trump are well aware of these concerns.
