Turkey has prevented cooperation between NATO and Israel due to the Gaza war.
Informed sources told Reuters that Turkey has blocked cooperation between NATO and Israel since October due to the conflict in Gaza and does not want this coalition to interact with Israel until this conflict is resolved.
These sources, who did not want their names revealed, said that Turkey has labeled the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza as a violation of NATO’s founding principles and has suspended all NATO interactions with Israel since October, including meetings and joint exercises.
UN investigations in June showed that both Israel and Hamas have committed war crimes in the early stages of the Gaza war. The UN statement mentioned that Israel’s actions constitute crimes against humanity due to the high number of civilian casualties. Israel denies this and says its goal in Gaza operations, which have so far resulted in nearly 40,000 deaths, is to eliminate Hamas.
