Reza Pahlavi: We have achieved the greatest civil disobedience in the history of Iran.
After the announcement of the parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections results in Iran, Reza Pahlavi posted on social media platform X that the election boycott has yielded results.
He wrote on X, ‘We, the people of Iran, on Friday, 11th of Esfand, marked our greatest civil disobedience in history with unprecedented unity. This time, the overwhelming majority of us stood together and chose boycott instead of complicity with our dear oppressors.’
Mr. Pahlavi described this outcome as a turning point and wrote that it was not just a silent protest against the anti-Iranian regime of the Islamic Republic, but a significant milestone in our struggle to reclaim Iran, believing that our power and numbers are far greater than the regime’s oppressive forces.
Official statistics of the parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections have not been released yet, but the Iranian government news agency IRNA announced a 42% participation rate, the lowest turnout in the history of post-revolution parliamentary elections. Supporters of the government claim this figure indicates the failure of the boycott project.
