Saeed Afkari's Tweet for His Sister: For the Umpteenth Time We Asked Her to Break Her Strike

Saeed Afkari’s tweet about his sister: for the umpteenth time, we’ve asked her to end her hunger strike.

Saeed Afkari, Navid’s brother, addressed his sister Elham’s situation in a Twitter thread and expressed concern about her condition.

He stated that yesterday was the fourteenth day of Elham’s hunger strike, which has caused her severe weakness and illness, adding that they are extremely worried about her life and have asked her multiple times to end her strike.

In another tweet, Saeed Afkari mentioned that there was an attempt to remove Elham from the ward, but due to her resistance and that of other prisoners, it was unsuccessful. We suspect they might want to transfer her to solitary confinement.

Elham Afkari is the sister of Navid Afkari, an Iranian wrestler who was executed by the Shiraz Revolutionary Court in 2020.

He was arrested in connection with the August 2018 protests and accused of murder and enmity against God, but he considered these charges to be fabricated and denied them.

The Shiraz Revolutionary Court sentenced Elham Afkari to five years in prison for her political activities.
