Schulz: Putin neither threatened me nor Germany

Sholts Putin neither threatened me nor Germany.

Olaf Scholz, the Chancellor of Germany, stated in interviews with the German magazine Bild that there have been no threats against him or Germany in his conversations and discussions with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.

Scholz said that these conversations have mostly involved exchanging different positions and perspectives. He added that in our phone calls, our very different views on the war in Ukraine were completely evident and clear.

The statements of the German Chancellor come as Boris Johnson, the former Prime Minister of Britain, recently said in an interview with BBC World Service that Putin had threatened him with missile attacks in a call in February 2022.

Johnson also emphasized that he perceived Putin’s statement as a rhetorical tool for exerting pressure. A spokesperson for Putin dismissed Johnson’s remarks as lies and stated that Putin has never made such a threat.
