A severe whirlwind in Maragheh overturned a makeshift school and sent at least five students and a teacher to the hospital

A severe whirlwind in Maragheh overturned a portable school cabin, injuring at least five students and one teacher who were then taken to the hospital.

According to Iranian media reports, this incident took place on Monday, the 19th of Farvardin, in the village of Baghir in Maragheh county.

Maryam Shojai, the teacher of this school, told the IRNA news agency that the cabin was not only not connected to the ground but was located on a height, and after rotating twice, if it had not hit a water source, it could have rolled down to the lower road.

Hossein Akbarian, the director of education in Maragheh, also mentioned that this county has 18 portable schools, about 14 of which require reinforcement and connection to the ground.
