Suicide of two more doctors in Iran

Following the series of suicides by doctors in Iran, Mohammad Reza Asadi, a member of the Tehran Medical Board, reported the suicide of a resident in Yazd.

This doctor, on Monday, July 14th, wrote on the Ox social network about the continuation of the domino effect of physician suicides, this time in Yazd, where a pediatric resident at Shahid Sadoughi Hospital in Yazd and a mother of a young child ended her life.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Amir Kabir newsletter, which covers news related to students, announced on Saturday the suicide of a female medical student at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. It is said that she took her own life in her university dormitory and passed away.

Reza Larijani, the spokesperson for the Iranian Medical Association, in April 2024, listed the multi-dimensional and multi-faceted aspects of the increase in suicides in the medical community and told the media that the workload on residents is very high, and the mismatch between what they receive and what they do is very significant.
