Tehran Builders Association's Promise of Building One Million Homes by the Government Not Fulfilled

The promise of building one million houses by the Tehran Builders Association has not been fulfilled by the government.

A member of the board of directors of the Tehran Builders Association said that the key theme of this year’s slogan is public participation, where people can first reach the production of housing to 650,000 units and then help in achieving the goal of building one million houses. However, people or the private sector face challenges such as the lengthy process of obtaining permits, insurance, taxes, and the lack of a real construction rate in the National Housing Movement plan.

Regarding the government’s plan in the thirteenth term to build one million residential units annually, it was stated that after about three years of the government’s term, the goal of producing one million houses annually has not been achieved. If the government takes public participation seriously and activates the private sector, we can first reach the production of 600,000 to 650,000 residential units per year. Then, the goal of building one million houses will not be out of reach.
