Tehran Governor: If Someone is Unemployed, They Should Contact Us to Arrange a Job for Them

The Governor of Tehran says if anyone is unemployed, they should come to us so we can find a job for them.

Mohsen Mansouri, in a press conference today, Tuesday, September 1, 2022, held on the occasion of Government Week, referred to significant developments in the economic sectors over the past year in Tehran province and stated that in the economic sectors over the past year in Tehran province, unemployment rates have been decreasing day by day. Today, in Tehran province, there are towns like Pakdasht and Robat Karim without any unemployed people, meaning if someone is willing to work and doesn’t have a job, there is capacity and readiness in these towns to introduce them to workshops and factories as quickly as possible. The unemployment rate in Tehran province has now dropped below 6 percent. This report is documented and based on the insurance premiums that employers in Tehran province have paid to insurance companies and can be verified. I can confidently say that today, anyone in the province who wants to work can find a job, and we don’t have a problem creating jobs for those seeking employment. However, the issue is that people want to obtain jobs that they prefer. For example, in some cities, 80 percent of job seekers are interested in working in municipalities, governorates, or the public sector, which is not feasible. We have engineering, design, and factory labor positions that need human resources, but the work culture in society is desk jobs, and this culture needs to change.
