The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Visited the World Role Stadium

The ambassador of Saudi Arabia visited Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium

Today, on Friday, 26th of Bahman 1402, before the football match between Sepahan and Al Hilal teams, Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anzi, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia, visited Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium in Isfahan, accompanied by his delegation.

According to IRNA news agency, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia planted a sapling in the peace and friendship garden of Sepahan Club.

The visit of the ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium and the meeting between Sepahan and Al Hilal teams is taking place four months after the controversy of canceling the match between Sepahan and Al Ittihad in the same stadium.

The match between Sepahan Isfahan and Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia on 10th of Mehr 1402 was canceled due to the presence of a statue in Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium and the protest of Al Ittihad players. The Asian Football Confederation announced the result of the match as a 3-0 victory for the Saudi team.

Meanwhile, recent reports have been published about the removal of the statue from inside Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium.

A few days ago, the Saudi newspaper Al Riyadh reported, quoting the CEO of Sepahan Club, that they removed the statue. However, shortly after, Manouchehr Nikfar, the CEO of Sepahan Club, denied any interviews with foreign media in an interview with Tasnim news agency, saying that passing Al Hilal would be difficult.
