The Attorney General’s Office’s directive for dealing with the discovery of the hijab

The Deputy Attorney General for Supervision of Courts and Prosecutors across the country announced in a note the issuance of circulars by the Attorney General’s Office to the police for a decisive response to the crime of discovering the hijab.

Abdol Samad Khorramabad, the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision of Courts and Prosecutors across the country, addressed the duties of judicial officers and the judiciary in dealing with the crime of discovering the hijab in a note, stating that the crime of discovering the hijab is one of the visible crimes, and law enforcement officers are required to arrest the perpetrators of visible crimes and refer them to the relevant judicial authorities for punishment, in accordance with Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code of 1996 and the last paragraph of Article 44 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
