The claim by the head of Tehran University of Medical Sciences about the dismissal of 40 professors is false.
The head of Tehran University of Medical Sciences denied the news of the dismissal of 40 professors and provided explanations regarding the allegations raised about the retirement of some professors of this university.
Hossein Ghanati, in response to the allegations made by Reza Malekzadeh, a member of the faculty of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, regarding the dismissal or retirement of about 40 professors from the University of Medical Sciences, stated that in the past two and a half years, we have not had any dismissed professors at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and this is a false news that unfortunately has been spread in the virtual space and opposition media such as Iran International.
He explained that we did not expect a university professor to say such things, and the dignity of a university professor is higher than making baseless statements. He clarified that during our team’s management period, we did not have any dismissed professors. Dr. Malekzadeh himself is over 70 years old and has been a professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences for over 40 years. Basically, when a professor has been at the university for over 40 years, their continued presence at the university requires permission.
