Dr. Tahoura Norouzi, the CEO of the National Foundation for Chastity and Hijab, explains that the Chastity and Hijab Bill has been approved by the Expediency Discernment Council and sent to the Guardian Council. She says that unfortunately, the Chastity and Hijab Bill, as one of the important cultural issues and fundamental needs of the country today, has fallen victim to politicization by some individuals. This is despite the fact that cultural matters have no connection to politics or, as they say, elections.
The CEO of the National Foundation for Chastity and Hijab emphasizes that we should not play political games in cultural matters. She states that today, the issue is not only about observing hijab, but also about the family and the position of women under the shadow of this hijab and chastity. The problem of unveiledness is like a disease that gradually takes root in society and corrodes it from within. Therefore, negligence and irresponsibility in this area are not acceptable.
She mentions that the implementation of the Chastity and Hijab Bill in the country is a demand of the majority of the people, especially women, and is in line with the cultural framework and opportunity-oriented approach of the bill.
