The Domino of Arrests of Iranian Actors Continues, Iranian Media Reports the Arrest of Mitra Hajjar

The domino effect of arresting Iranian actors continues as Iranian media reports the arrest of Mitra Hajjar.

Reports from Iran on Saturday, December 3, indicate the arrest of Mitra Hajjar, a well-known Iranian cinema actress. Mehdi Kouhian, a member of the Committee for the Follow-up on the Detention of Artists, has confirmed the arrest of this actress and environmental activist. According to the news outlet Emtedad, the reason for Ms. Hajjar’s arrest and the detaining authority are unknown. However, the IRNA Twitter account wrote that last month Mitra Hajjar, along with Elnaz Shakerdoost, Baran Kosari, Sima Tirandaz, and Hengameh Ghaziani, were summoned to the prosecutor’s office to respond to the publication of unsubstantiated and provocative content.
