The Islamic Republic newspaper: Handing over the Afghan embassy in Tehran to the Taliban was not correct

The Islamic Republic newspaper stated that handing over the Afghan embassy in Tehran to the Taliban is not correct.

The newspaper wrote that in addition to the significant security risks, handing over the embassy to an illegal and terrorist group will be recorded as a black mark in the Iran-Afghanistan relations.

According to the Islamic Republic, this decision by the government has sparked numerous reactions, and not only media outlets and political activists within the country, but also the people of Afghanistan are surprised by this decision.

In another section, the newspaper wrote that what has surprised political observers both domestically and internationally is that the Islamic Republic of Iran has preferred the desire of the Afghan people, who have never accepted the rule of this armed group as a legitimate government and have been under the control of Afghanistan based on a deal with the United States for 18 months and yet no country has recognized it officially.
