The judiciary committee of Iranian media courts recognized Rokna website for publishing news about the criminal assassination

The disciplinary board of Iran’s media courts recognized Rokna website for publishing news about the murder of Dariush Mehrjui, a known criminal.

The disciplinary board of Iran’s political and media courts recognized Rokna website for the case of publishing news about the murder of Dariush Mehrjui and his wife, who are known criminals.

According to Iranian media, the disciplinary board declared Rokna guilty of spreading rumors and false information on October 19, 2023, with the title ‘Who is the killer of Dariush Mehrjui? The hired assassin.’ The majority of the board did not consider this media outlet eligible for leniency.

On October 19, the Rokna news website announced that the Mehrjui’s kidnappers are among the detainees, and their motive was financial disputes.

Following that, a statement was released by Vahideh Mohammadifar’s family completely denying this news.

On the same day, the managing editor of this media outlet was summoned by the Tehran prosecutor’s office and charged.
