The approval of a plan to block Iran’s six billion dollars in Qatar
The US House of Representatives approved a plan on Friday that prevents Iran from accessing the six billion dollars that had previously been released in exchange for the release of prisoners.
This action was taken in response to Hamas’ attacks on Israel on October 6th.
According to this resolution, the Biden administration is required to permanently block Iran’s six billion dollars in assets that were previously released in connection with the release of five American prisoners.
This resolution, supported by Republicans, also includes sanctions against funds and individuals involved in this transfer, which will require final approval by the Senate.
